Secretary of State John Kerry told reporters Monday afternoon that the U.S. is considering responding to the Syrian crisis and that last week’s attack were “real and compelling and undeniable”.
Kerry called the alleged chemical attack a “moral obscenity” that should shock the conscious of the world. Kerry has promised that the U.S. will release additional information about the attack in a few days.
The Secretary of State added: “there is a reason that the world has banned entirely the use of chemical weapons”.
The alleged attack has moved the United States closer to military action against Syria. Kerry did not address which actions the president is considering, however “President Obama will be making an informed decision about how to respond to the indiscriminate use of chemical weapons”, Kerry said .
Syrian president Bashar Assad has denied any such chemical attack.
